What Is the ECO4 Scheme?
ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation 4) is a government-backed programme that requires large energy suppliers to fund free energy efficiency improvements for eligible UK households.

Launched in April 2022 and running until March 2026, ECO4 is the fourth phase of the Energy Company Obligation scheme. It targets households in fuel poverty or on low incomes, providing free insulation, heating upgrades, and boiler replacements — all funded by the UK's largest energy companies.

What Does ECO4 Cover?
A wide range of energy efficiency measures are available under the scheme, depending on your property type and eligibility.
Boiler Replacement
Replace an old, inefficient gas or oil boiler with a brand new A-rated condensing boiler. Reduces energy consumption and heating bills significantly.
Loft Insulation
Install or top up loft insulation to current recommended standards. Up to 25% of a home's heat can be lost through an uninsulated roof.
Cavity Wall Insulation
Fill the gap between the inner and outer walls of your home to prevent heat escaping. One of the most cost-effective improvements available.
Solid Wall Insulation
For homes without a cavity, solid wall insulation (internal or external) can dramatically reduce heat loss and energy bills.
Air Source Heat Pumps
A modern, low-carbon alternative to gas boilers. Heat pumps extract warmth from the outside air to heat your home and hot water.
Solar Panels
Generate your own electricity and reduce reliance on the grid. Solar PV panels can be installed as part of a whole-house energy improvement package.
